Hundreds of undocumented immigrants from India are taking an unusual route to the United States, illegally crossing from Mexico into Arizona to seek political asylum
Those numbers are likely to rise in 2014, the head of a D.C.-based Asian immigrant rights group told Newsmax on Tuesday.

US May Have Let ‘Dozens’ of Terrorists Into Country As Refugees
Several dozen suspected terrorist bombmakers, including some believed to have targeted American troops, may have mistakenly been allowed to move to the United States as war refugees, according to FBI agents investigating the remnants of roadside bombs recovered from Iraq and Afghanistan.
The discovery in 2009 of two al Qaeda-Iraq terrorists living as refugees in Bowling Green, Kentucky — who later admitted in court that they’d attacked U.S. soldiers in Iraq — prompted the bureau to assign hundreds of specialists to an around-the-clock effort aimed at checking its archive of 100,000 improvised explosive devices collected in the war zones, known as IEDs, for other suspected terrorists’ fingerprints.
“We are currently supporting dozens of current counter-terrorism investigations like that,” FBI Agent Gregory Carl, director of the Terrorist Explosive Device Analytical Center (TEDAC), said in an ABC News interview to be broadcast tonight on ABC News’ “World News with Diane Sawyer” and “Nightline”.
“I wouldn’t be surprised if there were many more than that,” said House Committee on Homeland Security Chairman Michael McCaul. “And these are trained terrorists in the art of bombmaking that are inside the United States; and quite frankly, from a homeland security perspective, that really concerns me.”
As a result of the Kentucky case, the State Department stopped processing Iraq refugees for six months in 2011, federal officials told ABC News – even for many who had heroically helped U.S. forces as interpreters and intelligence assets. One Iraqi who had aided American troops was assassinated before his refugee application could be processed, because of the immigration delays, two U.S. officials said. In 2011, fewer than 10,000 Iraqis were resettled as refugees in the U.S., half the number from the year before, State Department statistics show.

On Oct. 23, police in Burlington arrested Aliaksandr Bychkou, 32, after he reportedly set fire to the College Street Congregational Church. He was discovered in the church’s basement, as flames erupted from the steeple.
A week before the fire, Bychkou went to the Unitarian Church on Church Street and asked if he could climb into the building’s steeple, according to detectives.
The suspect was also seen at the Burlington City Hall, asking specific questions as to the layout of the building.
A few days after his arrest, prosecutors discovered that Bychkou is in the country illegally.
The Burlington Free Press reported:
Deputy Chittenden County State’s Attorney Mary Morrissey said she has since learned that Bychkou was warned four years ago that he was in the United States illegally and was facing a deportation proceeding in Boston in 2014.
“I understand he entered the country on a visa and overstayed,” Morrissey said. “I was told he was picked up in Reno, Nevada, and was deportable.”
Bychkou has been charged with second-degree arson and burglary, and is currently being held at the Northwest State Correctional Facility in Swanton on an immigration detainer.

During a routine traffic stop and drug interdiction with the new K9 officer NiKi on Tuesday night, Boyle County deputy sheriffs discovered a man who allegedly had been evading federal authorities since 1987.
Using the alias Antonio Trevino, Juan Martinez Rodriguez, 54, was arrested by the deputies while driving with a suspended license on the U.S. 150/127 corridor.
“Deputies felt there was something wrong,” Sheriff Marty Elliott said of Trevino, who submitted a Texas driver’s license but gave an Irvine, Ky., address.
When officers arrived at the Boyle County Detention Center to fingerprint Trevino, they learned his true identity is Juan Martinez Rodriguez. It is believed Martinez is involved in more than 50 identity theft cases and is in the United States illegally.
Martinez remains in custody awaiting the arrival of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency.
